Camping Pittsfield State Park Weekend of July 31

July 22nd, 2010

Lots of people attending. Yay!

We have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday booked so we could actually stay until 11AM on Monday.  Checkin starts at 1pm Friday.

Some info:

Park website: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/western/pitt.htm

Map of site: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/images/pittCampMap.gif

The site is a field so it’s like the first place we camped.  There are only 5 parking spaces at the site so we will have to shuttle gear.  There are some picnic tables and fire rings.

I’ll update the blog post but if people would prefer to use google docs go here:  Google Spreadsheet

Camping on St John part deux

February 1st, 2010

I downloaded the Wordpress app for my phone and managed to totally bollocks up this post.

Hopefully I can roll it back when i get to a real computer. Expect to see more posts than edits to this post. The app doesn’t seen to like editing much

I’m on the red hook ferry to st John. It’s hot hot hot. So keep that in mind. Although it does get cool and buggy at night. Lightweight pants are a good thing.

So not much to report after visiting the site. Totally regretting not suggesting we get enough rental cars for everyone. Getting to cinn bay is easy enough but getting away is a real pain.

Also note there’s road work on st Thomas. I’m sitting in a queue at a work site. So as usual. Don’t expect to get anywhere fast.

Run of the Charles April 26, 2009

March 2nd, 2009

Here’s the plan

Leg 1 – Brett & Barb     (check-in 8:30)

Leg 2 – Ralph & Doug     (check-in 10:00)

Leg 3 – Mike & Morse     (check-in 11:00)

Leg 4 – Carrie & Trish     (check-in 11:30)

Leg 5 – Amy & Jay     (check-in 12:30)

We’re in Brett and Barb’s awesome kevlar canoe.  They have 3 PFDs but it would be nice to have a few more to make swaps easier.

The post-race plan is to BBQ at the finish line bandit style.  In the unlikely event we get kicked out we’ll bail to Trish’s house.

If everyone fills out this ROTC Waiver (click link) and faxes it to Classic Communications @ 508-698-6811 it would avoid all the race day hassle of filling it out.  Our team name is FauxHoc and I submitted the registration.  It would be a good idea to put that info on the cover sheet.

Everyone’s welcome to come over to our place on Saturday for some carbo loading.  We’ll probably be around most of the afternoon but the official party time is 5:00 and we’ll shoot to be eating around 6:00.

The cost this year is $40 per person.  Please have it on Saturday night if possible.

Camping on St. John, Feb 2010

February 4th, 2009

Brett reserved 5 sites in Group C.  for 2/13 thru 2/19, 2010.  If you would like one of
these sites, please call Mary @ 800-539-9998 and have her remove one from the
Anderson reservation and put in your own name.  I think she will charge your card
for 50%.  Let me know when you have done this.

I asked her about renting camping stuff like stove, cooking and eating gear and she
said that it may, or may not, be available.  If it is available it would be 3 or
4$/night.

Ex iRobot lunch Wednesday 12-10

December 8th, 2008

We should have lunch together with the suffering souls we left behind. :)
How about Wednesday at 11:45 to avoid the rush? I suggest Bamboo because they’re big enough to handle the crowd. Comment here and I’ll make the reservation when we has a consensus.
